On 9/29, the "Beijing Motorcycle Online Insurance Platform" (hereinafter referred to as the Platform), jointly launched by 15 property insurance companies in Beijing under the guidance of the Beijing Financial Regulatory Bureau and promoted by the Beijing Insurance Association, officially went live on 9/28. The Platform aggregates online application portals from major insurers, enabling fully digital purchase of mandatory motorcycle liability insurance for individuals. It also pioneers nationwide online renewal services for commercial motorcycle insurance, delivering a new "one-stop, all-coverage, mobile-first" insurance experience for Beijing's motorcycle owners—right from home.
In recent years, motorcycles have become a key mode of transportation for many consumers due to their flexibility and convenience. The launch of this insurance platform is a practical step taken by Beijing's insurance industry to uphold the political and people-centered nature of financial services. It will streamline the insurance process, protect the legitimate rights and interests of policyholders, and deliver convenient, efficient, and standardized insurance services to motorcycle owners nationwide.
This platform integrates multiple core services to deliver standardized, compliant solutions that meet diverse consumer insurance needs. Users can search for and log in to the insurance platform to access convenient services.
1. Online purchase of Compulsory Traffic Accident Liability Insurance (CTALI) makes independent insurance easier. Natural persons holding Beijing license plates can either select an insurer on the platform and click through to the insurer's page to complete their policy, or apply directly via the insurer's official website or WeChat official account. All steps—information submission, premium payment, and policy download—are completed online without needing to visit a physical branch. The platform supports both fuel-powered and compliant electric motorcycles, including standard two-wheelers and three-wheelers. It offers a dual-channel model combining "insurer channels + unified entry," fully respecting consumers' right to choose.
Second, the "one-click renewal" feature for commercial insurance streamlines the renewal process. For individual motorcycle owners who purchased commercial motorcycle insurance in the previous policy year, the platform aggregates online entry points from multiple insurers. Owners can directly select their original insurer, retain their existing commercial insurance coverage plan, submit documents online, and complete premium payment. With just a few simple taps on their mobile device, they can renew their commercial insurance—eliminating the hassle of visiting branches and waiting in long lines.
Third, the "One-Stop Inquiry" service centers make offline processing more convenient. The insurance platform caters to the needs of older vehicle owners and company motorcycle policyholders who prefer offline services by centrally displaying information for all 15 operating branches of participating insurers—including branch names, full addresses, and hotline numbers. This enables vehicle owners to easily choose a nearby location for in-person transactions, ensuring seamless online enrollment without leaving home and reduced travel for offline applications.
The "Beijing Motorcycle Online Insurance Platform" has officially launched, advancing the digitalization of motorcycle insurance services in Beijing and significantly enhancing the consumer experience. Moving forward, the platform will continue to refine its features, expand its service coverage, explore more convenient scenarios, and steadily improve the sense of gain and satisfaction among Beijing's motorcycle owners regarding insurance services.
