On 10 19, at the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Meeting, Ding Xiangqun, Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, stated that in the first three quarters of this year, the banking sector provided over 20 trillion yuan in new financing support to the real economy, while insurance payouts reached nearly 2 trillion yuan. Banks have effectively fulfilled their role as the primary financing channel, and insurance has delivered strong protective coverage.
"Enhancing adaptability hinges on optimizing resource allocation by closely integrating investment in assets with investment in people, guiding financial resources to better support the real economy," Ding Xiangqun stated, emphasizing the need to align capital allocation with transformation demands. We must actively support the development of new quality productive forces, help advanced manufacturing scale up and strengthen while enabling service sectors to expand capacity and improve quality, and foster emerging growth drivers. Strengthen financial support for infrastructure such as the "Six Networks" to leverage the leading role of major projects. Simultaneously, optimize insurance services to better meet protection needs. Address challenges like climate change and frequent natural disasters by improving disaster insurance frameworks. Align with national trade development by enhancing marine insurance underwriting capabilities. Diversify pension and health insurance products to meet varied public needs and advance the Healthy China initiative.
